Social Media Metrics

If you’re still trying to improve the level or reporting with social media sites, there are a few different hacks and plugins you can get your hands on that will help you pull social media metrics into your GA web reports.

Social Media Metrics Greasemonkey Plugin For Google Analytics

This may be considered old-hat for you Greasemonkey users, but I thought it was worth mentioning since I’m frequently asked about how to measure social media. This social media plugin will add the following social media sites to your existing Google Analytics reports:

  • Digg
  • Sphinn
  • Mixx
  • Reddit
  • StumbleUpon
  • Del.icio.us

Google Analytics Hack – obtaining full referring URL

This cool hack will allow you view the forum thread that is linking to your website.  According to Reuben Yau, the brain behind this hack, there are two options, the first is a hack which uses filters to place the referrer into the User Defined Report , while the second uses a modified version of the Google Analytics tracking code to place the full referrer into the Top Content Report.

Good Luck,
